MLS St. Louis: T-shirt Ideas
With the recent announcement of Major League Soccer coming to Saint Louis with the 2019 expansion I started working on concept designs for t-shirt ideas. The announcement of St. Louis becoming the MLS' 28th team came on August 20th currently there has not been any public statement of a team name but they made it sound that they were going to continue with the color scheme of gold, red, and royal blue but that could change too. So for these first concepts I was just working on Inaugural Season designs in which I could change the colors (if the ownership group choose different colors) and later adding the team name. I may submit these concepts to STL Style House, Arch Apparel clothing company or Series Six clothing company since they are St. Louis based apparel businesses I would like to see if they would be interesting in my designs.
— After working on a few t-shirt designs I also thought up a couple logos for the new MLS St. Louis team. The first concept I was referencing the old St. Louis Browns. I like the logo with the Apotheosis of St. Louis statue of King Louis IX of France on the top of the crest similar to the Browns logo and instead of a base ball I went with a soccer ball with the fleur-de-lis for the City of Saint Louis flag along with the blue river also from the city flag with the background colors stripped similar to the old browns logo but in the city flag colors. To finish off the design I added a banner to the bottom of the crest as a placer for the teams name.
— The second design would be an alternate logo. This concept was taken as a rework of the last logo. I like the banner and soccer ball element but replaced the Apotheosis of St. Louis and the crest with another symbol of St. Louis, the Arch.
— For both designs I went with "Club de Football" (French for football club) because the team currently does not have a name since they are still so new.
— Another design concept for the future MLS in St. Louis for merchandise. For this concept I wanted to more on a simple concept that would work any tee shirt color.
After I worked on a few ideas for St. Louis' new MLS team, I came up with this idea for potential submission to local apparel businesses. I came up with three different versions of this idea. I am not sure which concept I like better. This design can work on many different color t-shirts.
