From the emerald waters of La costa dell'Abruzzo—Il Dandy Restaurant promises to bring the finest ingredients of traditional Calabrian cuisine to the refined palates of San Diego.

Founded by Michelin-rated chefs, Luca and Antonio Abbruzzino (funny coincidence, huh?), the restaurant's essence is deeply rooted in it's origins along the mediterranean coast. Showcasing the meticulous techniques of the Italian kitchen, served in a delicate and contemporary fashion. 

My job was to create four digital collage illustrations for their upcoming website, and a fifth meant exclusively for print. Each had its own theme and unique storyline tailored around mid-century Italy & art deco design. Featuring Oscar Wilde, "Il Dandy", as a benchmark for class, elegance and chivalry. The restaurant's "mascot", so to speak.

So wether or not you like to enjoy a beautiful day at the beach, or sipping on a fine Negroni in your dusty white-tux, these pieces are meant to spark your imagination with the indulgences of di dolce Vita. You can imagine that the hardest task was certainly not creating—inspiration was boundless—but holding myself back from drifting into a daydream or drooling on my keyboard over these enticing plates and drinks.
