Design for Hyphen Press Catalogue
and almanack.
The content was giving by the teacher with some constraints: No color use except for paper colors (if desired), No pictures, No graphic elements only text. Then the editorial and layout was entirely our choice.
My concept is “size”. I show it with the titles in very big sizes and the paragraphs in rather small sizes. I also chose a small format (A5) to show the contrast with the big titles and the size of the book. And finaly by inserting shorter pages within the catalogue to introduce the chapters.
I chose to work with Grotesque MT Bold for titles and big text, and Helvetica Regular for paragraphs and smaller text.
