Miriam Magazine

Miriam Magazine stemmed from the glamour and freedom of my own grandmother who shares the same name. Here, fashion is appreciated, positivity flourishes and the latest trends are showcased in the most creative and classic ways possible. The publication is meant to be a collectors piece much like other off-beat fashion magazines out there; each issue a new topic or theme, but still remaining to the brand’s identity.  A more contemporary layout gives the magazine an edge that most fashion/lifestyle magazines strive for nowadays. The white space is used as an element, and the overlapping type gives each spread a little more dimension to a flat page.

The overall purpose is to have no boundaries to the content. Articles are freer in context but share the same elegance as some of the top publications. Artistry is not only appreciated, but much wanted as each issue features an artist or designer with a story to be heard and loved. This particular issue contributes to the feminine beauty my grandmother loved so dearly about life. I wanted to break outside the stereotype of what traditional femininity is while keep the classic aesthetic of the magazine. Muted colors, grungy photographs, urban fashion and the most off-color stories come together in this issue and weave together a masterpiece.
