2007 Was the second year the legendary jazz venue Bimhuis participated in the Amsterdam Dance Event. Since their programme for the event was quite experimental in comparison to the rest of the ADE, they wanted their own website to promote it.
The ‘tag cloud’ of the artists’ names is actually an experimental music player. If the mouse is moved over the artists’ name, a piece of their music fades in, as well as a photograph in the background. I found it’s easy to lose track of time playing with this gizmo.
The design of the site is actually a mixture of the style of Bimhuis and that of the Amsterdam Dance Event. For instance, the cubes of the Bimhuis style are found in the programme display, and the typography of ADE can be found in the tag cloud.
