Hikari - Collocation flat

Convert a 33 square meters apartment on the 5th floor of a Parisian building for collocation between two design students.

Hikari means Light in Japanese. Situated at the 5th floor of a Parisian building, we wanted to make this place an observatory point full of light in this city. Our main objective was to bring as much light as possible in this space which needs to be private and communal at the same time. Most of the apartment is dedicated to the living room, a place of shared work and relaxation. The two bedrooms are separated from the living room thanks to translucent partitions in order to create a second daylight lighting inside. By playing with heights and modularity, the apartment become not only an efficient place but also a relaxing and enjoyable site of living.

Aménager un appartement de 33m² au 5e étage d'un immeuble parisien pour une collocation entre deux étudiants en design.

Hikari signifie lumière en japonais. Situé au 5e étage d'un immeuble parisien, nous voulions faire de cet endroit un observatoire emplit de lumière dans cette ville. Notre principal objectif était d'apporter le plus de lumière possible dans cet espace qui a besoin d'être à la fois privé et commun. La plus grande partie de l'appartement est dédiée au salon, un espace de partage et de relaxation. Les deux chambres sont séparées du salon grâce à des parois translucides qui laisse passer la lumière venant des deux grandes fenêtres du salon. En jouant avec les hauteurs et les modularités, l'appartement n'est pas seulement un lieu pratique mais aussi un lieu relaxant et agréable.
