Fleet UX: Security Line Estimator

One of Fleet's most unique features is the ability to combine crowd-sourced data with historical data to provide a best-possible estimate of wait times at security lines at airports. To drive this, we needed to establish an intuitive means for users to report back on conditions at their airport.

A primary challenge is that the estimation is highly subjective, and travelers in line have no consistent means of estimating the delays. Another challenge is that airport security lines vary greatly at different airports, and even inside of airports themselves.
To solve this UX workflow challenge I proposed a visual representation of the line itself. A user can visually estimate where the end of the line is in relation to the line stanchions, and on the back-end the application can potentially take the user's geographic location in to account to know the exact airport and security line the user is reporting.
Low-fidelity UX design concept.
The security delay UX built in to the Fleet application. The user swipes left and right to fill in the grayed out people icons to visually approximate where the end of the line is in relation to the line stanchions. The filled-in areas change from green to yellow to red to indicate level of congestion.
