Allergy Resource Guide

A major project for SAGE Dining Services® to re-design their Allergy Resource Guide for every manager at their over 200 locations across the country. This time we had to add extra information about allergies in Canada as well, as SAGE has branched out of the United States and keeps on growing.

I took an existing concept, and re-created it with their guidelines and expectations in mind. Before it was a booklet/folder and with all the extra information they wanted a binder that would sit on the shelf in a managers office with the rest of their material sent from the Home Office.

I created icons and a color palette for each of the top allergens and designed the rest of the pages to fit that format.
Below is the final image of the binder
It started with this folder design
From there I developed a new theme, while also keeping with the newly developed SAGE style guidelines to create an effective form of communications for very important information.

So why the bright orange?
1) Epi Pens are orange and a huge part of allergy awareness. 2) Orange is safety! 3) If ever in a situation where you need to access the binder for resources because of a situation happening in the now, managers will never forget which binder is the key to a child's survival in a scary circumstance.
You'll find below samples of the tab pages, the icons created for those pages, and the inside pages for the binder.
