IndiCom aims to deliver a new kind of product to consumers in the outdoor adventure and emergency preparedness markets. It enables independent, off-grid communication between mobile phone users without regular mobile/gsm network reception. Why? Because sometimes the regular networks are unavailable when we need them most.

The peripheral clips easily onto any size smartphone and connects to the phone wirelessly using Bluetooth. The IndiCom app gives the user access to off-line maps and a geo-location chat interface. The peripheral allows them to broadcast these messages to other IndiCom users in range. Range in urban environments: up to 1km. Range in open environments: up to 20km.
