DESIGN TECHNOLOGY LOOKBOOK
SUMMARY:
The Design Technology Lookbook included my work throughout my semester in Design Technology. This lookbook included works from Photoshop, Indesign, and Illustrator. We were given a template where we were required to place our files into the lookbook as well as creating a unique and eye-catching cover page. We also included interactive elements within the lookbook by creating QR codes that take viewers to our Behance page for the given project. This lookbook is a perfect reflection of my work over the course of this semester and is a perfect addition to my BFA review.

GOALS:
This project challenges me on my knowledge of Indesign as well as stylistic choices that fit within the concept of my lookbook. Before this project, I didn't under necessarily how to determine what fonts to use and how they can can communicate with an audience. This project also tackles the use of book binding four our printed project. We also needed to take our own creative route on creating a matching cover page that uses different tools and layouts that are eye-catching.

DESIGN SYSTEM:
After learning about visual hierarchy, I was able to replicate that element in my lookbook. I wanted to pick a font that was eye-catching, but also modern. While looking through dafont.com, I found MADE Sunflower. MADE Sunflower is a modern, but also a flowing font. To balance out the thickness of the MADE Sunflower font, I paired it with avenir (light). I also used the same fonts on my cover page to make it coheisive throughout the entire lookbook.

WORK IN PROGRESS:
COVER PAGE:
Our cover page needed to include the title 'Design Technology Lookbook,' 'Spring 2024,' and our first and last name. I wanted to include the same hierarchy of scale that is used in the rest of my lookbook. I didn't have an exact plan for my cover page, but I knew that I wanted to bend my text in some way.
I thought that the format of the text did not cover the page like I wished. To fill up more of the space, I decided to make the Spring 2024 cover most of the empty space. I used a darker color on the title Design Technology to create a focus and make viewers read the title before they read Spring 2024.
My name at the bottom of the page seemed like it did not fit the contents of the page, therefore, I brought it to the middle. I was worried about accidentally making my name the focal point instead of the title. To fix that, I made my the font on my name smaller and it also circles around the title. I also rearranged the Spring 2024 text so it reads left to right.
CONTENTS:
In the lookbook, I wanted to use color in my visual hierarchy, therefore, I changed my subheadings and titles blue to guide viewers to the beginning of each section. I also apply this color to my QR codes to fit the color theme.

KNOWLEDGE GAINED:
Before this project, I didn't have much knowledge with graphic design, therefore, I didn't know much about how to layout text in unique ways or how to know what fonts to use. I now have a better understanding on typography and how important it is to create a design system within projects that use text. I also know how to package an Indesign file and make sure that everything is correctly placed and doesn't have any missing files or images. While Indesign has many different tools that could be overwhelming at times, Indesign was overall easy to use and didn't provide me much difficult.
