The Old City of Dubrovnik in Croatia is known as the Pearl of the Adriatic. Although it was founded in th e7th century, it reached its peak in the 15th or 16th century as a trading port rival to the famous trading port of Venice. The architecture styles show a mixture of medieval, Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque.
