The product image is showing Murano glass work. I wanted to focus on two statues but show other Murano work as well so I used a narrower depth of field to focus on the statues with a glass plate in the background (using several background objects made the images looked cluttered. After many attempts this is the image I felt best reflected the quality of the glasswork.
The food image was mainly an experiment with homemade backgrounds & lighting. I wanted to show nuts flowing from an overturned bowl & I also tried to capture the lid still almost upright but this wasn't too successful. I also wanted to add a bit of humour with the bird ornament. I deliberately went for a wide depth of field to get everything in focus.
The architecture image was taken with an iphone at the city of arts & sciences in Valencia. I thought it was interesting to capture some of the futuristic buildings with two old blocks of flats in the background, I also liked the reflections in the water. Apart from a bit of cropping & minor colour enhancement I did little post editing.
