Photo Theory Final: Product Photography
During the course of this final for my Photo Theory class, we had the opportunity to pick out what we wanted to focus our themes on for photography, I ended up choosing Product Photography. This is something that I have little experience with, but would like to pursue in the future. So with some guidance, I decided to challenge myself by looking websites that document their product in a certain way to appeal to their clientele and capture an accurate look of their product. This was a trial and error process and look to continue on improving my work in the near future and seeing where this takes me.
This project focused on Basquiat-Themed playing cards from the website Theory 11. I looked on their website to see if I could replicate some of the style that they used to display their product, but added some of my own ideas with lighting. The idea was to make it look appealing while at the same time gather information for the viewer to understand what is provided. In hindsight, the lighting was a little over-saturated and some of the angles on the shots could be done better, as it was done free hand.
