BE Bench(A bench design for KLIA Express)

BE BENCH
A Bench Design for Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) Express
BE stands for Batik+ Express, a bench designed for KLIA Express. As the design displays the characteristics of Malaysia and KLIA, it also conveys the message to be true to yourself. To meet passenger needs and incorporate a Malaysian element—Batik—into the design.

The Idea
Through KLIA Express bench design, promote Malaysian identity to tourists. Batik, a symbol of Malaysia, and the KLIA Express logo were incorporated into the design. From the front, we can see that the shape of the design is a fusion of two trains, and the inspiration is taken from the KLIA Express logo. And the color used for the "KLIA" alphabet matches the color of the logo. Additionally, there are places for passengers to sit and stand in consideration of their behavior.

Why Batik?
The materials used in this project are rubberwood, powder coated metal frame, plywood, glass and batik. Batik-- one of the symbols of Malaysia. Many passengers buy batik products as souvenirs for their family/ friends. We also can see Malaysia Airlines using batik as their company uniform.
