Threadwear is a bra/top made for people affected by BDD (Body Dysmorphic Disorder), a pathology in which patients see imaginary flaws in their bodies and feel ashamed of them. Pictures-based social medias, as Instagram, can trigger these people with idealized bodies which sometimes are fake, since pics are fixed to be posted. When patients get stressed, the HR value increases and the heart rate sensor catches it, while a notification is sent by the “Thread.” App.
This combination of physical and digital is meant to make the patient more aware about an eventual eating disorder and monitor her in a non-invasive way during the day.
