Walter “Buck” Leonard was one of the best pure hitters to play in the Negro Leagues. He was also a key part of the Homestead Grays dynasty of the 1930s and 1940s. He ranks as one of the greatest ballplayers of all-time.

I had the opportunity to develop a logo for the Buck Leonard Association, in Rocky Mount, NC. It’s a community based organization that holds civic duty and service in high regard. It offers sports and enrichment services to children of low wealth families while assisting families to gain access to the diverse family service resources needed for children's positive outcomes.

This logo was created for an "Open Call" for art through NLBmart.com, which is a Grassroots Arts, Marketing, Community-building, and fundraising campaign for Negro Leagues Baseball museums, foundations and family trusts. It will be exclusively used for the Buck Leonard Youth Baseball League, an affiliate of @mlbrbi.
