Reign - Grand Julian Fractal Print

Before & After
I don’t usually do before & afters, but I liked how this one turned out with just a little bit done.
The raw fractal, straight out of Fractorium.
A very small amount of editing to get the look I wanted, which wasn’t really possible in Apophysis or Fractorium. Not 100%, anyway.

First - the fractal was a bit dark, so I added a Levels adjustment layer to pump up the midtones and highlights a bit.

After that, I added a Curves adjustment to take some of the green out of the image, and boost the red and blue slightly.

Then: a gaussian blur filter applied to the entire image at a radius of 10 pixels. This is what gives it that soft glowing effect. Reduced the fill (Not the opacity) to lessen the effect after setting it to Lighten.

Next up: a blue-to-pink (My favorite!) gradient map, set to Divide and then reduced fill again.

Last step: A solid black layer with color noise added. Set to Lighten and reduced fill.
The Final Result
This is probably one of my favorite Julians now. I’ve been kind of struggling to create lately - but I think I’m getting over my block. Starting to actually feel good and like the stuff I’m making again.

No plans to have it on any other store as I’m actually planning to just start focusing on one store at a time.
