Lifeguard depicts my sister as somewhat of a lifebuoy, expressing the impermanence in our lives and our transformations through the journey to our final purpose. The ambiguous celestial, yet oceanic background represents our ability to drift, straying from our original goal or dream. Yet, we are still tied at the neck by time and change. In a fatalistic attempt to explain our role in the cosmos, this piece depicts our tendencies to waver in our paths to something bigger.
