In late winter through early summer, the lowest spot of our property becomes a vernal wetland. A magical time when the conditions are just right, the swamp transforms from clusters of naked branches and mud to a shimmering primordial pool, the surface quivering with life.

I always look forward to the few days the maple leaves emerge ahead of the others, with bird songs for a mesmerizing soundtrack. One of my favorite spots for creative inspiration, reflection, meditation.

The overgrown vernal wetland area of our property in Central Ohio is a constant source of artistic inspiration and one of my favorite spots for reflection and meditation.

This winter panorama is my impression of the textures of the bare, crowded trees and the frozen, snow-capped mounds of heaved grasses of the swamp as they take on warm highlights  that contrast with blue shadows as the sun begins to set.

Self-portrait on linen base, Adobe Photoshop, ProCreate
In an early spring maple grove, I heard the whispers. Digital ink, linen base.
I am Tenacious Goat, graphically speaking, speaking graphically. Ain't no mountain high enough.
Inspired from a walk in our wetlands swamp in the spring.
Glistening puddles, pregnant with a primordial ooze, nesting Mallards, flirting Robins and busy amphibians. Impressions of Nature’s symphony and mystery.
Movement, texture, patterns, light and shadows, reflected and penetrating.
Composition study with limited color palette. Detail views and other expressions on my 3-column instagram gallery feed.
