Non-Representative Self Portrait

This self-portrait collage uses a wolf statue I own as the base imagery. The wolf is symbolic to loyalty and protection, both something that is seen as an animal running with a pack and a loner, a gentle but strong animal. I use this symbolism because  others have said that I am loyal, strong, kind and gentle.

The colors used in this collage provide a complementary feeling and meaning. The reds and orange tones suggest passion and warmth but they are also used in the symbolism of fire, both a positive (renewal, cleansing) and negative (destructive) element. The blue and cooler tones are the opposite, following water and ice in the color symbolism, both positive (wisdom, flow) and negative (cold, harsh) in element. These elements, when balanced, have their positive traits counteracting their negative. Finding balance within life is something I try to do as I walk through it.
