The aim of this project was to redesign the vinyl gatefold album cover of my music favourite album, using image making techniques. For this design I did a paint pour on blue paint onto a large canvas. As it was being poured I photographed how the paint flowed, using these images I used Lightroom to bring the design to life and mirrored the image to look like wings or something grow, building on the of something blooming / growing.  

This design was inspired by the original artist of the Bloom album Jack Vanzet, who uses an impasto technique and thick paint applications to create his artworks. I loved his work and wanted to use his work as inspiration for my cover re-design.

This piece was the second connect I had for the cover design. Using broken glass I pieced thumbtack together and used many covers of spray paints to create this intriguing image. To me it looked like the earth cracking and the silver paint looked like flowers blooming.
