For this project I chose as subjects some of my closest friends. Friends have the distinct way of reflecting back each other’s fears, insecurities and strengths. You’ll always see yourself in true form when you’re with your best friends. They are the best reflection you have of yourself because they hold tiny pieces of you. Therefore, this series is actually a self-portrait.
The portrait project acts as a mirror to our multifaceted nature, the characters caught in the flat surface on which they are created are trying to get free or trying to hide their emotions and memories behind the dashes of paint. Melancholic portraits feature subjects colored with mute tones of black, white, and gray, injected then with dashes of electric blues and reds.
