NOVA & THE RECYCLABLES
The Development Process
PROJECT GOAL: Take an existing IP concept and create a values-driven TV series for children that will inform and inspire them to care about recycling and for their community.

MY ROLE: Creative Director, Co-creator, Series Development, Character Designer

STATUS: Currently in Development
My first step was to reimagine the characters from the inside out, to make sure each character had a purpose and way to contribute to the series narrative. I didn't want any redundant characters, and I wanted each to have a unique relationship with the other characters so we can utilize as many storylines as possible throughout the series.

Here is a Character Matrix breakdown of all the characters:
ANIMATION USING REAL-TIME RENDERING GAME ENGINES
ANIMATION TEST: Here is a short test showcasing some of the locations, music and characters in the series.

PLANNING ANIMATION USING A REAL-TIME GAME ENGINE: This sequence was designed to use a proprietary real-time rendering game engine called Animation Now. Mouth animation is generated from audio clips and animated actions are triggered in a timeline. The engine did not allow for moving cameras. Other engines like Unreal or Unity 3D do not have this limitation.
BRANDING & MARKETING
I designed this poster for the sales efforts. Very early in the development process I came up with the slogan that would be the controlling idea of the series:

"A friend is a terrible thing to waste."
