FAST EXPO | SYNESTHESIA

Fast Expos are a concept of exhibitions in a party format with express exhibition and sale of artworks that lasts only one night at Sala Siroco (Madrid). In mid-2023 I was presented with the opportunity to collaborate on this project with Sisual Studio to show artistic pieces generated with Artificial Intelligence (Midjourney + Runway). The common thread was the inflatable and the idea was to explore and play with the creation of impossible universes.

Just as in literature synesthesia is known as a figure of speech in which a sensation (auditory, olfactory, visual, gustatory, and tactile) is attributed to an object that does not correspond to it, in the digital world Artificial Intelligence works as a tool to transfer this concept to a material transversality that plays on different universal dimensions: object, space, and human.

These universal dimensions, protagonists, and scenarios of the graphic work needed to be recognizable elements for everyone. That is elements of popular culture. If you understand it, you consume it and enjoy it. And that's why the POP touches the work, the music, and the decoration. One example is the piece of the Sagrada Familia, a world-famous icon of Spanish architecture, which we have turned into a bouncy castle.

The music had to respond to the same atmosphere of fun, playfulness, and the desire to have a good time. Always in style. Caribbean rhythms, melodic and fun. Listen to the reference playlist at the end of the project.
Infinite thanks to Sisual Studio for the opportunity to work on this project, to Sara Navarro for the trust, to the DJs (Jow, Butelicious, Lukatoni and Misnen) for their musical contribution and to Sala Siroco for giving us the space free of charge.
