This project focuses on reviving traditional Egyptian craft skills through creating modern Summer footwear, Using the scoubi-dou material with the traditional weaving and macramé techniques.

Slippy-dou is a collection of contemporary summer foot wear. It uses scoubi-dou material (colored plastic threads) in different weaving and macramé techniques. The collection is designed by merging scoubi-dou, linen and leather. The boho-chic style is used as an inspiration to suit the targeted women. The production is divided into two stages, First the macramé technique is made by local women in Fayoum to support and enhance their skills. Then the finishing is completed in a local leather workshops to promote local production with affordable prices.
