This one was a side project. My motivation was to design a last-mile vehicle that is an affordable and efficient solution for a medium scale production.
In big cities, commuting from A to B is becoming increasingly difficult. Each day, companies are coming up with different alternatives of urban transportation vehicles. More sustainable compact solutions to replace the car.
The kickscooter typology was chosen because is easy to learn how to use it. Besides, is a product that most part of society has seen in different versions, so it would have rapid market acceptance.
As a last-mile vehicle, it should connect different destinations while being used in different means of transport. For that purpose, the folding system is necessary.
The goal was to design an electric vehicle using certain production processes that allows a medium scale production. Therefore, I tried to make a balance between all processes avoiding tooling costs as much as possible. Nevertheless, some parts must be available for market purchase.
