A Clean, Well-Lighted Place was my senior thesis project while at the University of Michigan School of Art & Design. The piece is a digital, interactive storybook about a lonely boy named Gus who lives on an intergalactic telephone station. At a certain point in the story, Gus needs your help, by sending him text messages to charge his spaceship.
The piece took seven months to create, including concept creation, basic programming, extensive 3D modeling and animating, and optimizing for the web.

At a point in the story, Gus needs the viewer the send text messages to him that are used to charge his spaceship. (While the animation can still be viewed, the texting functionality required technical upkeep and monetary backing, and has been disabled.)
