우리는 하나된 열정이란 슬로건 하에 화합, 강원도의 지역적 자산, 대한민국의 이미지, 동계 스포츠의 역동성 그리고 올림픽 정신을 표현하려고 하였다.

전세계의 하나된 열정을 하나의 붓선으로 표현 하였고, 갈필로 동계스포츠 선수들의 역동적인 움직임을 나타내었다. 또한 평창의 지역적 자산인 설산을 밀가루를 뿌린 하회탈로 표현 하였고 하회탈의 곡선은 평창의 산새를 나타내었다. 대한민국을 상징하는 하회탈과 전세계 나라들을 나타낸 갈필의 선들이 하나로 뭉쳐 새로운 지평을 향해 나아가는 모습을 보여 준다.
