Tandazo was one of two functional prototypes we designed for our work with the World Bank and Bancomer. Tandazo was designed to make social savings groups more efficient and scalable. Currently, Tandas are managed by a motivated individual without much reward. Tanda organization is very manual and analog, which limits their growth. Tanda's are just one of an amazing number of ROSCAs. ROSCAs are the poor man's bank, where money is not idle for long but changes hands rapidly, satisfying both consumption and production needs. By building off this existing financial vehicle, Tandazo organizers, Tandazo providers, and the greater community of Tanda and Tandaza users can all reacher higher potential savings, returns, and efficiency.
