Typology: Craft center 

Handcrafts and manual arts are a part of inherited heritage for all people to express their social identity, after the industrial technological advances that we have these days a lot of handicrafts disappeared with its makers and teachers. A craft center is a profession that requires a certain type of skilled work. Usually this term is applied to people in small-scale production. Craft center is a one-stop destination offering visitors the opportunity to learn about city’s handcrafts through craft demonstrations and interactive activities. In this paper, a craft center located at a Akhmim city on market street is proposed. This project clarifies to educate and highlight the heritage of Akhmim handcraft and local manufacturing technology.

Concept : 

The informality of the context inspired the formation of the formality of the textile, creating something metaphysically aesthetic that extends beyond its cords. This is achieved through the contrast between the irregularity of the land with the order within its courts.
