The Client: A film production company run by National Award recipient, Hansal Mehta. They have produced noted films like Shahid, CIty Lights, Aligarh and Simran.
Brief: To set up an identity system for the company that had a youthful, modern and vibrant look about it. Karma is a powerful name, and the brief was to create a identity that stayed in the minds of people without appearing preachy or heavy handed
Solution Offered: While providing the ideas for the logo, a whole range of marks, to classic Buddha silhouettes, to religious and powerful designs were offered for the client to choose the personality of the brand. Since the word Karma has a strong religious connotation, one had to be very clear about the path to take. Doing a pinwheel immediately brought the logo in the zone of a breezy feel good world that had a vibrant appeal. A pinwheel with all the colours of spectrum, with the circular motion in the centre, is like Karma - circular, all inclusive, energy driven.
