Learning Objective: Create a poster in Photoshop featuring a leader in the arts or sciences who is no longer living. Design something that might be used on banners/in print, perhaps as a memorial of this person's life and work. Select the best quality photograph of this person and combine it with two or more images that illuminate the very best of the person's life work, along with their name.
Mary Oliver was an American Poet that primarily wrote about nature and its connection to human life. She won the National Book Award and Pulitzer Prize. I wanted to commemorate her life as a poet through a scene in nature. I chose to draw her name because, much like her writing, there is not much to hide. Her work is not exaggerated or made to be larger than life. It simply exists, and I wanted an imperfect typographical symbol of that.
