Monty Python's Flying Circus 50th Anniversary
The purpose of the project is to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Monty Python’s Flying Circus through a set of celebratory stamps. Inspired by Terry Gilliam's illustrations and also this quote from John Cleese:
“We were acutely conscious that it was a television show and were also very aware that the best parodies of television are done on television, and the best parodies of theatre are done in the theatre. The best compliment we ever recieved was the one that said ‘once the show came off the air and the next thing came on- it was impossible to watch it without finding it incredibly funny.”
In order to communicate the nature of Gilliam's illustrative animation style I created three short promotional animations to advertise the stamps.
