Combe Martin in England. These are the tallest sea cliffs in England - the Hangman Cliffs. The image captures the form of the landscape and so the history of the cliffs is clearly visible. I'm using LiDAR data generate a 3D mesh of the landscape. Rendering in Blender and exploring ways to light the model to highlight the topography. Contains public sector information licensed under the Open Government Licence v3.0.
The City of Edinburgh. Edinburgh is dominated by the castle in the west and Arthur's Seat and Salisbury Crags to the east. I'm using LiDAR data generate a 3D mesh of the landscape. Rendering in Blender and exploring ways to light the model to highlight the topography. Contains public sector information licensed under the Open Government Licence v3.0.
The City of Caernarfon in Wales. The city is home to one of the most impressive castles in the United Kingdom and one with a deep history. I'm using LiDAR data generate a 3D mesh of the landscape. Rendering in Blender and exploring ways to light the model to highlight the topography. Contains public sector information licensed under the Open Government Licence v3.0.
Crystal Mountain east of Mount Rainier in Washington State. The rendering clearly shows the ski trails in the trees and if you look closely you can make out the chair lift apparatus. The LiDAR data is from the Washington Department of Natural Resources.
The impressive cliffs of the Napali coast on Kauai, Hawai'i. Data from Hawai'i Statewide GIS Program.
