University of Hertfordshire BA (Hons) Model Design: Model FX Projects and Personal work (second year).
Turbo A
The brief was to create a replica of any chosen tool using various hard woods followed by casting the tool in resin and creating an animal using the resulting cast. I chose to turn a circle cutting tool into a cartoony Doberman hound.
'Design Process and Realisation' Project:
'The Raven' VTOL
I produced a 1:46 scale model of the gunship flown by 'Kruger' (Sharlto Copley) as seen in Neill Blomkamps' 'Elysium' (2013)
A number of techniques where used to construct the piece, 3D printing, turning, milling, silicone moulding and resin casting. The camouflage, insignia's, decals and reg numbers where painted using a variety of laser cut stencils and some parts required hand painting.
Turbo B
The second 2 week turbo project involved creating a beetle of my choosing at a larger scale 'as though it where a museum piece' Using only basic tools, processes, machinery and reductive sculpting techniques.
I created the bizarre 'Giraffe Weevil' (Trachelophorus giraffa)
Contextual Model: 1:6 Scale 'Chappie' Action Figure prototype
I produced this entire 8 week project through creating a complex 3D printable design in Rhino 6.
The context; it was to be a piece of film merchandise, a semi articulated action figure intended mostly as a collectable figurine.
Flamberge Great sword 3D Model (Rhinoceros 6)
