When I plan to depict the moments of animals, firstly catch the sense of them. Focus on the movements instead of falling into the details. Capture the changes of tone, then express synoptically. The charm of beautiful eyes and lovely mouth owe to the overall relationship.
Catch the figure by eyes and touch the paper by heart. Keep the balance between more and less. Looking for my own drawing language by patience and sincere emotion.
Oh, forgetting one thing: when I lost in sometime, the key will be always found in the internal shape structure - the gift from nature.
Changes in Progress
The changes in progress are very valuable for review and discussion. Though it's not necessary to keep the rules of traditional way, it's better to pay attention to one point: How it will changes in this process. You could find different changes between two examples below.

Grey Tones
Grey tones contain infinite charm. Just make it naturally reveals in any way.
There are little discernable changes in the dark grey part. The subtle differences should be visible and cautious. Variety of touches (brush stroke or charcoal stroke) will enhance the visual effect.
When light grey and dark grey show together, best not to make a clear boundary. Try to make a few fusion and overlap.
Free expression and personal technique is based on appropriate relationship of tones.
