The Gallery Café is located in a unique architectural space at the National Gallery of Ireland. We were tasked with designing a complete rebrand for the café. Our client wanted the new identity to better reflect its core values of honest, delicious food prepared with fresh and tasty local ingredients. The challenge was to present the café as a stand alone destination while also respecting its unique location in one of Ireland’s most important cultural institutions.

Our concept was to convey the key message of wholesome, sustainable food within a gallery space under the tagline ‘enjoying the art of good food’. We created a fresh brand that resonates with the National Gallery of Ireland’s patrons as well as young, urban professionals who value good produce and appreciate casual dining experiences and the convenient location. The elegant logotype sits perfectly within the existing branding of the National Gallery, adding warm splashes of colour and loose, brush-stroke graphics to reflect creativity. The colour palette is warm and inviting, with the imagery depicting natural, local produce.

We created a popular and wholesome brand with a strong visual identity that remains sympathetic to its artistic surroundings. Project deliverables included logo design and brand guidelines, brand applications, design of menus, posters and various printed display items (both interior and exterior) and general signage.
