Coca-Cola Case Study for Installing New Freestyle 9100 Platforms
Overview
Coca-Cola released the new Freestyle 9100 Platform. Using the Salesforce Design System, Coca-Cola wanted their sales reps to contact several outlet store managers and see if they were interested in installing a new platform.

Problem Statement
The purpose of this project is to make easy for the sales reps to initiate the process of installing a new platform. In the meantime, the sales rep were using Excel sheets to do so (yes you read that right, excel sheets with several tabs at the bottom of each sheet). That created a huge problem as each sales rep was working from their own sales sheet and multiple replicated orders for lack of inventory tracking.

Users & Audience
The user of this product is a Coca-Cola sales rep, which meant that this product is to be used internally by the business. There were two personas:
1. sales rep who can only initiate an order and track existing orders.
2. sales manager who had more privileges and was able to do the also delete or update any order.

Roles & Responsibilities
My role as a UX/UI designer was to understand the requirements needed by the sales reps to initiate an install. As I was new to Salesforce, I had to first learn Salesforce through several online courses such as Trailhead. Working along side a UX Architect (who already established the user flows and processes needed to initiate an order), a UX Researcher (who i helped hold interviews with the sales rep and watch them using excel sheet to place an order), a product Manager (who knew exactly what they needed the product to do), and another UX designer, we were all able to work alongside one another and solve the problem. Most days we met to make sure everybody is aware of where we are in the process/design, and that was done remotely where everybody was scattered along the globe location and time difference wise but able to communicate and collaborate with one another. Somehow with emails and team messages we made it work.

Scope & Constraints
We were told that we had 4 months to create a product as budget was pretty small, and development had to be done by a third party company overseas. So we had to make sure the designs were as sold as can be before it was sent over. Suddenly, we were updated that we only have 3 months, so we had to buckle up and speed up the process.

Process & What I Did
I had to brainstorm some ideas design wise with the team, and try to make the process as easy and as efficient was possible. Therefore, after interviewing the sales reps, understanding how they used their excel sheet, and minimizing those tabs they had on each sheet to a few, I decided to create several processes other than the initial install process:
1. Replacement (can be an upgrade with or without a site assessment*, downgrade with or without a site assessment, or Like 4 Like for replacing a defected platform).
1. New Install (for outlets that did not have any coca cola platforms in the past. Could install more than one platform at once.)
*Site Assessment is what a third party contracting company has to do in the outlet construction wise to make the new platform fits where the old platform was (dimensions and depth in size).

Outcomes & Lessons Learned
At the end, we got the design approved by the project manager, and created a few prototypes using Avonni Creator and had the sales rep test them to see if there were any problems that we still needed to solve but at the end everybody was happy. We made sure the process was easy to use and got the job done. Not sure what happened after our contract ended as far as development, but I am sure it was easy to follow as it was mostly designed using out of the box Salesforce components.

I definitely learned a lot about Salesforce, interviewing users in reat time, working alongside a project manager, and completing a project in a short deadline. There is nothing that I would change.
