Intro

For this project I asked around my family about what they thought of when they thought of my family. I took their best ideas and conceptualized them into a family crest. I took several different pieces of inspiration from Behance to help guide me in what to create for this project. Family crests are something that are not very common anymore and I actually really enjoyed trying to make my own.

The reason why I chose a blue background and broke it off into four sections was to represent our family company called Jeld-Wen. The company produces windows and doorsand so it is broken into four sections like a window. There is an airplane on it to represent how far spread across the country our family is. We also enjoy to travel and visit each other a lot. It can also represent that my grandpa used to fly in the Air Force. There is a playing card because we all like to play cards together. We have a lot of great memories playing games like "Kings" and "99". I made it an ace of hearts because it can represent that our family is very loving not just to each other, but to everyone. There is a piece of corn because my mom and her siblings are all from the midwest and grew up in the country. As a family we all visit Iowa quite a bit and we enjoy being in the country with all the farms. There is a golf club because it is a sport that we all enjoy to play together as well. The reason why the banner is red is to reinforce the loving aspect of our family and I put it at the top because it can symbolize that it is one of the top things in my family. I added orange accents with the text because we also enjoy to play and watch basketball together.
