I haven't painted a scene like this in Photoshop in a long time (now I think about it) but since I upgraded my computer to something more modern and painting is a lot smoother now I decided to put some time in and finally sort out a nice painting brushes set for PS CC.
This background scene works as a demo piece showing what I use this brush set for and what you can do with it. The set is meant as a stand-alone thing so you can paint a piece like this using only the brushes from the set. It has some simple basic brushes that are a standard in Photoshop and about 10 brushes of my own devising, made based on my all-time favorite presets for scenery painting. The picture took me about 2 days of work to finish (I painted it on and off at my desk and in cafes) and is based on a photo I took in Kanazawa when we went there with Kana last year. I really liked the narrow streets in the older part of the city and already painted one illustration based on those photos before.
