Bologna Children’s Book Fair and Fundación SM’s intention is to promote children’s books and reading. In 2009, they launched the International Award for Illustration. This award was designed to discover and encourage new talents in illustration.

CONCEPT : Each atmosphere reflects a season and a tale:

- Rapunzel as Spring (German fairy tale)

- The Little Mermaid as Summer (Danish fairy tale)

- Little Red Riding Hood as Autumn (European fairy tale)

- Beauty and the Beast as Winter (French fairy tale)

A reflection based on tales and the seasons, brought to fruition through the use of linocut paired with collage.
