Maid Marian character design

I felt inspired by older, animated films, like The Last Unicorn and The Hobbit, to create a classic, 2D animation-style Maid Marian character. Her first full costume turnaround that I explored was her Sherwood Forest outlaw look.
Additional costumes I explored included a nighttime chemise, a utilitarian, outdoor winter outfit and, as King Richard's cousin may have from time-to-time required, a court gown complete with caul (the headdress).
Here is some expression exploration of the character. This was actually a fun exercise, as I put out a call on my social media for followers and friends to provide me with prompts of expressions they'd like to see.
I have a fashion background, and I really love to see clothing presented in flats like a paper doll. It's a great way to show different colorways of your garments.
I knew I would want to take this character into 3D eventually, so while it's not quite orthographic, this turnaround has been more than enough for me to translate her anatomy into a 3D model in ZBrush. If I was doing this for a client, however, I would definitely redraw her orthographically with a proper, straight-on front, side and back view.
While in the early stages of designing the character, though I felt fairly certain I wanted auburn hair, I decided to do some color explorations.
