This is two of my embroidered birds delicately crafted using single strands of thread on calico. The embroidery technique used is commonly referred to as "thread painting" and allows you to achieve a more realistic effect. Painted elements have been used to enhance the composition of the portraits.
The birds featured in this collection are a Jenday Conure and a Budgerigar.
