THE CHALLENGE
This fully integrated system for clinical support and management of healthcare organizations, with its workflow-based architecture, promotes consistency and scalability over different applications. The main challenges were: to develop a design system for a healthcare platform by applying Philips Design principles and also maintain the consistency of business rules and restructure the navigation architecture (in 665 different functions) in order to provide a delightful user experience.
THE APPROACH
The UX Design contemplates Tasy’s principles and presents a solid foundation on design practice at Philips. The challenge was to design a complex EMR system while keeping the legacy by combining best practices of design and usability towards a delightful user experience.
The meaning of design has moved beyond form and function to explore new ways of thinking. Design is experimental and user centric at the same time provide solutions that are scalable, effective and delightful. At the convergence between all this we can find meaningful innovations
THE SOLUTION
A consistent navigation architecture ensures easy, user-centric operation that allows quick adoption and reduces error. Visual consistency with a clear UI improves readability so the user quickly has a full understanding of data, while functional consistency speeds up operation and promotes safety. Ultimately, with more complete patient information, providers can make well-informed treatment decisions faster and more safely.
THE IMPACT
1. Design scalability
2. Consistency
3. Optimized documentation
4. Better metrics collection - direct impact on task efficiency and effectiveness measurements
