ISON is the third studio album by Démodé, pocket-size orchestra.
The title comes from the Comet C/2012 S1 that crossed our skies in late 2013. In between from destruction and creation, comets are the symbol of metamorphosis: in this case, it’s passage corresponded with a deep transformation of the band itself.

I designed the visuals starting from the concept and the sound of the record. The packaging is a three-fold cardboard sleeve printed with an additional Pantone to the process colours. An additional printing on reverse allowed to have full black on the inside, instead of having white stripes in correspondence of the spines.
Typography was carefully chosen to give a contemporary and sleek look. The cover illustration is a mixed media and digital technique elaboration, started from a picture of Saturn’s moon Titan, taken by Cassini spacecraft.
I teamed up with animator zenlux for the gig visuals, he was in charge for all the live iteration of animations.
