This is an 18x24 charcoal drawing of my dog, Fender, done in my sophomore year of high school. It won first place in the two-dimensional category of a local art contest.

I snapped the picture just as Fender was about to go on a walk, which is why his ears are up and his tail is blurred slightly--it was wagging, even as he was sitting there. I didn't take the picture for the purpose of the drawing, but rather went back to it as a possibility and decided to go with it.
