Each student in the class was assigned a random item from the dollar store to create imagery for the poster. I was given a bag of mini pom-pom balls which I experimented with, and had the opportunity to create different studies. I ended up using shredded pom-poms covered in paint to create texture in the background.
 
This poster was based on and inspired by the short short story, "Frank and Johny were Lovers" by Dave Eggers. This story was about a couple who were bank robbers. Their love was strange, violent and twisted filled with robbing and killings of other people. The story created an uncomfortable and suspenseful atmosphere. Taking in key aspects and emotions from this story such as the blood and violence allowed me to create imagery creating a connection in the poster to the story.
