Winter temperatures along the coast of Lofoten and Vesterålen are due to the Gulf Stream very mild. Considering its location north of the Arctic Circle Lofoten has the largest positive temperature anomaly in the world!

Nevertheless, wind, snow and ice were constant companions on a round trip in Northern Norway.
