{ Only A Father }
Only A Father is a storybook I designed and crafted for MASARAYA, Bandung Institute Technology student show in 2018.
In Indonesia, men are widely perceived to be less resilient than women when it comes to taking care of family as a single parent.
Through Only A Father, I want to depict the struggle of single fathers, how society view them, and the dynamics between them and their children. I chose pastel colors and simple illustration style for this storybook to convey a soft, homey feeling.

I experimented with multiple materials for the book to amplify the storytelling.
For instance, I used a burned fabric on top of the book pages to emphasize an iron-burned clothes,
and transparent pages of the father's thoughts and the mother 'leaving' the family.
