Number stations were strange, some would say creepy way in which governments sent instructions to their agents overseas. Number stations were powerfull AM emissions that usually had some kind of identification code, sometimes it was music like famous Lincolshire Poacher, followed by male, female or children voices reading serious of numbers. Agents would decrypt these numbers using theirs onetime pads. Although these methods are less and less present, they still remain one of the most reliable method of comunication between agencies and their spies abroad, even no country ever officially recognized its using number stations as a spying method. Today’s digital technology is all about numbers and codes and all of these pictures can be used to convey messages, if someone would decide to do so. So, everyone of us humans, like subjects in these photos can become a Number Station. Just Like Edna S. was.
